Meet the Editor- Brian Jacobson

Get to know Associate Editor Brian Jacobson, MD, MPH, from Boston University Dr. Brian JacobsonMedical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Endoscopedia: What are your GI areas of focus?

BJ: Health Services Research and Interventional Endoscopy.

Endoscopedia: What is your favorite part about working on the Journal?

BJ: The camaraderie among the editors.

Endoscopedia: If you hadn’t gone into gastroenterology, what else would you have done?

BJ: Woodworking.

Endoscopedia: What is one thing you would like Endoscopedia readers to know about you?

BJ: If they really want to know, they’ll just have to read my blogs.

Endoscopedia: What accomplishment makes you most proud?

BJ: That my children try to live by the code: 1) be nice, 2) maintain a good sense of humor, and 3) persevere. Of course I may just be taking credit for one of my wife’s many accomplishments.

Endoscopedia: What is your favorite vacation spot?

BJ: If I reveal that, it will get too crowded.

Endoscopedia: If you could only listen to one kind of music for the rest of your life, what would it be?

BJ: Klezmer music and/or polka.

Endoscopedia: If you were stranded on an island, what one book would you bring?

BJ: How to Get Rescued for Dummies.

Endoscopedia: If you could travel in time to a different time period, where would you go?

BJ: I’d stay put fearing I’d somehow mess up something and not end up with the life I’m currently leading. Although…would I get to time-travel in a DeLorean?

Endoscopedia: What is the most unusual thing about you?

BJ: My sense of humor.
