GIE accepting applications for its next Editor-in-Chief

The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) has announced the search for its next Editor-in-Chief of its flagship publication, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (GIE). The journal reviews and selects the best articles directly pertaining to not just endoscopy but also to studying conditions broadly relevant to the GI and hepatology community, where endoscopy is a part of the diagnostic and therapeutic treatments in clinical areas of inflammatory bowel disease, functional GI diseases, and obesity.

Douglas G. Adler, MD, FASGE, FACG, AGAF, current Editor-in-Chief, will complete his term on December 31, 2027, before a 4-month overlap period with the new Editor, starting September 1, 2027. Editors of GIE serve a 5-year term. The Editor recommendation is confirmed by the ASGE Governing Board.

If you intend to apply, please submit the following to skinnan@asge.org. Letters of Interest must be received by May 31 and should include:

  • Current curriculum vitae.
  • No more than a 1-page statement articulating interest in the position. This should include a brief vision for continuing the growth of GIE’s prestige, Impact Factor, global leadership, and acceleration of its reputation. Please also indicate if you would be willing to work with 1 other individual as Co-Editors-in-Chief, should the Governing Board choose (note: this is not a requirement to be considered).
  • Conflict of interest disclosure.
