This video is a training video to assist gastroenterologists with how to properly protect themselves with PPE equipment when performing endoscopy in patients with COVID-19. The video reviews different aspects of proper social distancing and also how to safely monitor who enters and exits the endoscopy room to prevent inadvertent exposures to COVID-19.
COVID-19 has changed how we practice. Patients with COVID-19 as well as those with suspected COVID-19 may require endoscopy. To ensure the safety of the endoscopist, nurses, technicians, anesthesiologists, and other team members, proper PPE and additional precautions are needed to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
