Search for next VideoGIE Editor-in-Chief begins

The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) is searching for its next Editor-in-Chief of VideoGIE.

Field F. Willingham, MD, MPH, FASGE, the current Editor-in-Chief, will complete his term December 31, 2025. Starting October 1, 2025, there will be a 3-month overlap period with the new Editor-in-Chief. Editors of the journal serve a 5-year term.

VideoGIE is an Open Access, online-only journal serving patients with digestive diseases. It publishes original, single-blinded, peer-reviewed video case reports and case series of endoscopic procedures used in the study, diagnosis, and treatment of digestive diseases. The journal serves the educational needs of endoscopists in training as well as advanced endoscopists, endoscopy staff and industry, and patients.

Those interested in applying should send the following to ASGE’s Assistant Director of Publications, Stephanie Kinnan (skinnan@asge.org) by September 1, 2025:

  • Current curriculum vitae.
  • A 1-page statement articulating the applicant’s interest in the position and vision for the continued growth of VideoGIE.
  • Conflict of interest disclosure.

IMPORTANT: An evaluation task force will review applicants’ initial materials. Candidates who are the most highly qualified will be invited to submit a comprehensive application and participate in an interview.
