
VideoGIE has launched a new article type, Industry Education, with the goal of providing vetted educational content about current and upcoming endoscopic technologies. Key features will include tips and tricks showing manufacturer-approved equipment uses and settings.
Accepted submissions will be posted on the VideoGIE website, hosted for 1 year with the option to renew, and will appear in search results.
VideoGIE’s first Industry Education article was published in 2023.
Submission requirements:
- A Word file (limited to 1500 words) with description of the device, use, and intended outcome.
- Two to 9 images displaying the technology and/or use of the device as well as legends for the figures and video.
- A 2- to 8-minute video with audio narration in English (maximum 300 MB; file format MP4 or MOV). Maximum average word count per 10 seconds should be 15 words.
- A link to direct readers to more information about the device or technology.
- Use of the Industry Education Content Template.
- A title slide with the name of the device and the company name and logos.
- No HIPAA identifiers such as patient names, medical record numbers, dates, or initials in the video.
- Focus on the technical aspects of the procedure without overtly promotional statements.
Encouraged/optional:
- References.
- Animations to simplify complex procedures.
- Demonstrations of product unboxing and set-up.
- Tips for success (eg, flushing catheters or lubricating devices with silicone spray).
- Recommended settings for cautery (if applicable).
All manuscripts must be submitted at www.editorialmanager.com/vgie. VideoGIE is an Open-Access journal, and all Industry Education content will be freely available to users.
